Law Minister Anisul Huq on Wednesday said that a special prosecution team will be formed to ensure logistic support for holding the trial of the BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.
“At the same time, he said that it would not be fair to say anything about the matter till the investigation of this case is completed” he also said.
The minister came up with the comment during a meeting with the European Union delegation at his office in the secretariat on Wednesday.
“We will take the next step once we receive the charge-sheet. The Law Ministry is going to set up a special prosecution team to receive it,” he added.
Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of BUET, was beaten to death inside the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7.
Police recovered his body from between the ground floor and the second floor of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall at 3am on the day.
Abrar’s father Barkat Ullah filed a case against 19 people with Chawkbazar Police Station in connection with the Abrar murder.
Police have so far arrested 20 persons in connection with the murder.
